Barbie Bernier is a Puerto Rican-American filmmaker born and raised in Texas. She graduated from the University of North Texas with a BA in Acting and Writing.

She wrote, produced, and premiered her first full-length piece in 2019 in collaboration with Arts Mission Oak Cliff in Dallas, TX. Since 2023, she has been an active film liaison and screener with the Austin Film Festival.

She has worked on professional productions with companies including Netflix and The Weather Channel, gaining hands-on experience in film and television production.

She trains with Richard Robichaux of Robichaux Studios, an award-winning actor and director known for his work in film, television, and theatre.

Barbie is currently in pre-production for her short film, While I Have You.
